So what is Purple Drizzle XXL?

It's a HUGE collection of urban and rnb construction kits, loops, and samples The style is a mixture of hard club tracks and smooth rnb sounds, so it aims to give you the sounds needed to match what's hot today. It is also part of the KLI series, so it comes with it's own Kontakt interface, ready to play, tweak, and customize the sounds to your liking.
I must admit, it's the KLI that made me really want to check this out. I really like what Big Fish is doing with their Kontakt interfaces for the sample libraries, it turns them into instantly playable instruments.

- Content: 3.44GB Wav
- format: Wav, KLI (Kontakt 4 and Kontakt 5), Rex, Apple, Acid
- price: $129.95

So how does it sound?

One thing about the VIP loops camp, they know how to make what's hot right now. I really like how the KLI interface allows you to get in and mess with the sounds, audition them quickly, and lay down your tracks. The separate drum instruments in here are really a plus, as there are some really sick drums, sub basses, and pitched percussion. The mixture of hard leads and smooth pads really mesh well together and allow you to get some really creative ideas down quickly.
With so much content here, it's good to know that not only do the sound good quality wise, but style wise they really offer some pretty usable loops, riffs, and chops. It sounds great, recorded well, with nice ambiance on the sounds when needed. There's even a dope percussion patch that I really liked.

So what's the bottom line?

Get this, if you're looking for a quick infusion of urban sounds that mix the smooth and club vibes together. What I love is the KLI and how you can instantly mess with the loops and slices, add fx, change the pitch, and do it all in time with your host thanks to the Time Machine Pro software in Kontakt 5. (using Kontakt 4 also allows instant use of time stretch)
They also incorporated the new instruments from Kontakt 5 like tape saturation, transient master, and the solid mix eq.

I give Purple Drizzle XXL 4.5 out of 5 subs, this is really a HUGE library that nails the current trend of smooth and hard urban music. The subs are deep, the leads are smooth, and the pads are airy and fresh. I definitely look forward to more KLI products from VIP Loops, as it gives a whole new outlook on the boatload of content these cats are putting out.

Well done, I definitely had fun with this library and I can see myself pulling it up just for some of the drums alone. Having them ready to play in kits and patches really makes a huge difference. I usually go through a library and pull all the drum hits out myself...so I definitely appreciated this.
