So what is Symphonic Manoeuvres?

Think of it as having access to a master copy of an orchestral score...for an epic movie filled with fighting, explosions, chases, romance, death, birth, triumph....you get the idea. It's a collection of 30 symphonic scores pretty much. Full orchestral performances that sound like they came straight out of a movie or an orchestal hall. Not only do you get these full performances, but you get every element of it broken up for total flexibility.

How does it sound?

Pretty dang good in my opinion. What I really like about this one is that it doesn't seem like it was "made for a sample library" it really seems like it was something made for a score or cue, and then they decided to give folks like us access to it. You get all the dynamics of a true performance, not just methodically constructed loops. You get all the rises and falls, speed ups, slow downs, and everything else.
The fact that each sample is 1 minute long is HUGE, it gives you tons of stuff to sample right in one folder.  Not only that, but you still get individual elements like the horns, strings, flutes, guitars, drums, whatever...for some real crazy sampling. The recording is top quality for sure, no audio defects at all, nice clean space around the samples as well.

So what's the bottom line?

I really enjoyed this one, this is the type of stuff I like to sample. It sounds straight like the stuff I would look for on old movies (or new lol) and old orchestral records, etc. I like the variety and the huge amount of content here.

I give this 4 out of 5 subs, it's really a good library. I could really see indie film makers having a field day with this, it's really complete orchestral scores in this library. But for me, I love it because it captures all the feel and tone of the stuff I would look for on records or other media, but royalty free (guilt free) Great job Big Fish!
