"For those who want to sprinkle a pinch of dirty binary mayhem on their mixes, Glitch Hop is a terrific resource." - Keyboard Magazine

Even when it's beautiful, Glitch Hop is disturbing. It's the wrinkle in the bedsheet, the sand in the vaseline. Artists like Prefuse 73,Telefon Tel Aviv, Matmos, Kid606, and others fuse hip hop beats with clicky, digital tones that are as gorgeous as they are defective. Glitch Hop producers are not content to make mathematical abstractions. Instead they combine this with funky, head-nodding beats to make a music that is both challenging and instinctively booty-shakin'. And now Big Fish Audio and producer Brian Saitzyk have distilled the essence of this sound into Glitch Hop.

Glitch started as a fringe movement in the IDM (intelligent dance music) scene about ten years ago, and has since moved more into the electronica mainstream. Artists like Telefon Tel Aviv and Prefuse 73 have carved out a niche in the world of downtempo by infusing their...

At first blush, gangsta rappers and computer geeks would hardly seem like folks you'd see hanging out with each other down at the club. But Glitch Hop has indeed become an active subgenre of Glitch (which itself is a subgenre of IDM), with recognized artists such as...
