By now, you may have seen Deaton Chris Anthony’s POV social media posts, sequencing early rave music on an Amiga 1200. But what’s the curious hashtag, “#steampunk” caption about? Many questions arise about what any of it means but now he’s come forward with a sample pack of sounds influenced by these videos.

From Olathe, Kansas, Deaton Chris Anthony is a notable American singer-songwriter and producer. With a string of independent releases including albums like BB (2015), BO Y (2019), and the EP BOOGY WOOGY (2020), he's signed with the esteemed British independent record label Dirty Hit.

Steampack is a comprehensive toolkit, featuring everything you need to create compositions similar to the artist’s signature style. From dynamic drum breaks and filtered beats to rich synth basslines and mesmerizing arpeggiated melodies, it's all here! But that’s not all; the collection also includes pianos, vocals, electric mixed percussion, and effects to add layers of depth and dimension.

Behind the scenes, Deaton Chris Anthony used a variety of equipment to create this sample pack including Baloran River, PPG Wave 2.2, Hartmann Neuron, Korg PS3200, Cheetah MS800, Soma Pulsar 23, and of course, the iconic Amiga 1200. The drum breaks were chopped using OctaMed v4.

Spanning a tempo range of 82 to 155 BPM, these loops are versatile, fitting perfectly into various musical styles, while retaining the unmistakable essence perfect for jungle music and heavy drum and bass. Steam is the theme and DCA delivers a truly #steampunk sample pack.
