What is Sequence?

It’s a Kontakt library dedicated to drum and percussion patterns, kits, and samples.

You get plenty of control over the sequence, the fx, individual drums, the kits, rolls, pitched 808, etc.

It has a custom interface that is powerful yet simple to use, as everything just makes sense.

They really aimed to make this a one stop shop for drum production.

How does it sound?

The variety and quality of drum and percussion here is really well done. I personally expected it to cater only to current trap/pop style sounds…so wasn’t sure how much mileage I could get.

Once I dug into the menus and kits, I found that everything is covered from 808 and synthetic sounds, to straight up acoustic, raw boom bap, and layered creative sounds.

They also included some really great sounding percussion samples for that extra spice.

I’m not a huge 808 guy, but they have some dope sounding 808 samples in here and the control you have over the sound to tweak it to taste is really quick but effective.

Overall I think the sound quality is where it should be, and the diversity of sound was a pleasant surprise for me personally

So what's the bottom line?

If you use Kontakt, or like using drum libraries with your keyboard controller this is definitely one to check out.

Heck, even if you don’t, at this price, if you’re a drum head then you should check it out anyway!

I give Sequence 4.5 out of 5 subs, the quality is great, the flexibility is pretty deep, and the interface is super intuitive.

I’d like to see them improve the sequencer a bit, maybe throw in some nudge/delay options in the sequencer, as well as roll per step, etc, along with the ability to drag MIDI patterns out into your host and the ability to record directly into Sequence in real time. I think a few additions can really make this instrument even more powerful than it already is.

Even just as a drum and percussion module, the amount of sounds and how quickly you can tweak along with the features like the pitched 808 and the roll creator make this joint a workhorse.

Definitely one to check out in my opinion.

Let me know what you think!
