Helter Skelter | Computer Music

With a name like Helter Skelter, we weren't expecting this to be the most chilled of offerings, and indeed, much of what's here belts along at a fair old pace. Firstly, it's time for the construction kits, which, for the most part, are dominated by the brash guitar work, but also include an intriguing blend of synthesised sounds and vocals. If you like Garbage (the band, that is), you'll probably like these, though some of the entries sounded a little ponderous to us. After the kits, you get a selection of well produced drum kits, mad effects, synth and bass loops, power chords and scratches. There's not too much to complain about here, though the disc as a whole didn't inspire us that much.
