It's not often we see a sample CD dedicated to bass guitar, but here we have a collection of 508 funky-ass basslines fingered by Josquin des Pres, a renowned session player from across the pond. The samples were recorded while Josquin was playing with a live band, then isolated, capturing the nuances of the session and making them ripe for grafting into your tracks.

Overall the compositions are of a very high standard, although look a little deeper and you'll find one or two noise floor anomalies, slightly varying tones in complementary phrases and the occasional overly quiet section. This could lead to one or two headaches while building a track. That said, the playing is precise and, well, funky, and would make a welcome addition to the hard drives of the groove-starved among you. Not bad at all.
